I wonder if Poe seemed to dislike droids because he knew what one did to Oscar Isaac’s character in Ex Machina. Also, I was sorry to see General Hux get blasted away when it could’ve been suspenseful to watch him during the final battle scenes to see if he’d help from the resistance from inside, attempt a power grab, or desert the sinking ship like a rat.
My main beef, along with the ones you discussed, was that Palpatine’s plan to spirit-surf his way back into ruling the galaxy pretty much relied on Rey getting to his secret Sith hideout without being killed along on the way which is why he told Kylo…to kill her?! Huh? In search of answers to this contradiction, I found this entertaining attempt to explain it all.

“Palpatine learned everything his master knew, including this technique to cheat death, and then killed him in his sleep.”
I see a flaw in that technique.
Also, someone else mentioned a way to fix the role Rose had in the film. Just have her go on the mission they give to Lando. It works perfectly with her character, gathering friends and loved ones.
