It’s Episode 27 and Ian and Dave square off, mano a mano, to debate one of the most important issues facing mankind today: do Soduku puzzles involve math. Ian forces Dave to talk about Bruce Lee; Dave sings some of the Gilligan’s Island theme; Ian has issues with the Fantastic Four; Dave wonders what the worst/most unnecessary movie sequel ever was; and Ian proves that Dave does not perform well under pressure.
Also, if you know the answer to that Soduku question, they’d love to hear it – even a Google search wasn’t much help. You can write that or your votes for the worst/most unnecessary movie sequel in the comments section below.

Neat episode gentlemen, even with your John Carpenter disparaging (John Carpenter is my favourite director of all time, and three of his films (THE THING, PRINCE OF DARKNESS and THE FOG) are on my top 5 films ever).
Worst number 2 sequel- tie between TROLL 2 (“They’re eating her; and now they’re gonna eat me oh my Gooooooood”) and THE EXORCIST 2, which is notable for James Earl Jones dressed as a giant locust.
Only films I’ve ever walked out of Mel Brooks’ THE PRODUCERS (unfunny and homophobic) and TROY (every time they mentioned Achilles and Pactrolus being “cousins” I got angrier and angrier and eventually left the theatre to avoid a stroke.
Yes, believe it or not, Exorcist II: The Heretic was in my mind when we were talking, but, as usual, we went off in another direction before I could get to it. That film is poop! I don’t know how John Boorman was able to make so many films when so many of them were awful. Excalibur? Good grief!
My problem with Troll II and some of the movies that Ian listed, like Lawnmower Man II and Nerds II, is that the original film was equally terrible. I’m more interested in films, like French Connection II and Exorcist II, where the original film is a bona fide classic. I mean, of course Lawnmower Man II is shit, Lawnmower Man is equally shitty.
John Carpenter is a particular favourite of mine too. Hence my disappointment with Ghosts of Mars. I was one of a handful of people of in the theatre for both The Thing (one of my top ten films) and Big Trouble in Little China, and I even like Diary of an Invisible Man (!).
