Howdeee, Sneakers! Exciting times this week as we recorded the show during a thunderstorm. Listen carefully and you might hear some thunder that was picked up by the mics during the show. This week, fighting to be heard above the din, Ian and David talked about Ian’s cunning marketing plan for his new book; giving it away for free; David foils his plans by buying a copy (or maybe that’s what Ian wanted all along. Hmmm…); Ian reveals his plans for a knitting podcast, Knitwits; David talks about his wife’s relatives visiting from the Shetland Islands; Ian amazes Dave with his uncanny Shetland accent; Dave talks about a visit to Seattle and a day around Vancouver with his relatives; they discuss meeting bears; riding wooden rollercoasters; and tackle some movies that should have ended sooner – including The Abyss, Event Horizon, Revenge of the Sith and listener and Sneaker Pierce’s suggestion of Return of the King (seriously, that film could have been three hours shorter).
Don’t forget to check out Ian’s new book It’s All About Tolerance, Stupid, which is currently available through Amazon for your Kindle pleasure. He will also be in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan for the Sask Expo September 14 and 15. If you’re in the vicinity, stop by and say HI!
The sound is a little rough this week. We decided to leave in the ambient sound so you could hear the thunderstorm as the show was recorded.
Thanks for listening!
