Sitting here and it’s 12:21 am on December 26th. Four days of Christmas celebration behind me, surrounded by opened gifts, too much rich holiday food and a disheveled house… a perfect time to write Sneaky Dragon!
Those butter tarts sound amazing and I looked them up…they look even better than they sound! I’d have to say that pecan pie is a constant holiday favorite down here in Texas and you want to have it cooked just right so the pie isn’t too runny or chewy. Years ago the two guys who owned my company decided to send a gift out to all our vendors and partners worldwide, the intent was to send everyone something that was locally unique to Texas. One of the owners bought Tito’s Vodka, a locally branded Texas vodka out of Austin to send out to everyone. It was a hit. The next year the other owner in the same spirit of giving, ordered a ton of these pecan pies in wooden boxes to send out at the end of the year. We all told him these pies would never make it to China, let alone customs without spoiling! He wouldn’t listen and the pies went out anyway. I never heard any feedback of what happened on the other end but we still have one of those damn pies left in a freezer at work, most likely ruined from nine years of freezer burn inside that wooden box.
Ever since “The Lord of the Rings” was released theatrically this time of year, we’ve ran all three extended versions over Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. It’s become a household tradition since now we actually wait until Christmas to watch it and not any other time of the year.
Other movies include “The Great Race” and “1941”, which is still considered a Christmas movie by some.
So yeah, how about that Superman trailer? Krypton is A-Dorable isn’t he? I’ll confess I’m going to miss the Zach Snyder films, A LOT….and I really wasn’t done watching Cavill and Company save the world as the Justice League. I guess studio politics won out and Snyder, Nolan and their wives split from Warner Brothers leaving the DCU in Jimmy Gunn’s hands. It could be worse but I’m walking a fence line that misses Snyder’s work and is curious about what Jimmy will do.
It’s late and I’m done here, a Sneaky Season’s Greetings to all!!
