Regarding actors playing Pythons, there is a BBC tv-movie from 2011 called “Holy Flying Circus” that is a dramatisation of the events and controversy around “Life of Brian” culminating in the televised debate about the film in 1979. It’s written by Tony Roche who also did “The Thick of It” and “Veep”.
