Hola, Sneakers! This week David and Ian are joined by Jason Dedrick for our twelfth annual [yes, we actually checked] Boxing Day boxtacular!
The boys discuss: unpleasant initials; for those scoring at home; Dedrick Boxing Day origins; gew gaw hoo haw; wine time; father-in-law storage; poops the question; holiday preppers; Christmas cocktails; star potatoes; cat troubles; abundant birds; Ian and David praise Godzilla Minus One; models of destruction; Raymond Burr-ial; the gavotting comedian; riding a bit; inside comedy; we kinda like Lucy; Dave discovers The Lady in the Lake; That Sound Game returns: Question of the Week – Sneakers respond; massed tchotchkes; fave Jason appearance; bad hair day; the magical Dedrick basement; Grandpa mysteries; unreliable father; test drinks; and, finally, never be prepared.
Question of the Week: What is something you planned to do this Christmas, but didn’t do?
Sub-question of the Week: How often do you go to the dentist?
Thanks for listening. Merry Christmas, happy holidays, and a Happy New Year to everyone!
Here is the drink suggested by Louise. Unfortunately, the layers weren’t well defined and the drink itself is not on fire, but this is how it looked:
Here is the fun meme that Eve created to celebrate Reesa’s safe return:
Jason mentioned Almost Midnight – the sketch comedy show he performed in with friends. Here is a sketch from one of their shows:
And here is the trailer for The Lady in the Lake. This trailer created a real Mandela Effect for us as there is clearly instrumental music in the trailer. Was it also used in the movie? Did we selectively remember only the parts using voices? (And by “we” I mean “Dave”.)

Looks like a new interface here! Very nice. I wrote a comment last week for episode 629 and it either I didn’t write it in time or didn’t get read!
I planned to get more of my current assignment done before Christmas so I could enjoy the break more, but it didn’t work out that way. So now I’m scrambling to catch up. My dentist’s office recommends a cleaning every 4 months. I’m fortunate to have a dental benefit through my writers guild so I figure I may as well use the annual allowable. I watched the video of Ed and his Star Wars collection. I must say, that a very tidy and well-dusted looking display, and his original art is very impressive!
Ha! I dusted all night long just to get ready for that interview…
Thank you for the kind words Louise! You should see what isn’t shown in that video, it’s a Point of Contention with my wife…
I planned to invade Canada during the holidays but I ran out of gas and my passport was expired. Better luck next year!
I’m due to visit my dentist postponed since November so that’s a loaded question. Also, my Canadian invasion threw everything off.
