I hope you had a Happy Birthday, Dave. I also like to celebrate my birthday with a dinner out with close family, followed by cake at home made by my mom. I usually opt for a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. Sometimes we’ll also see a play or movie. I enjoy going to other people’s birthday parties but I don’t like being the centre of attention. For me, that time you’re sitting there while everyone sings “Happy Birthday” is the longest 20 seconds of the year!
When I have a cold, I like to make myself a hot beverage then I hold the cup under my nose and inhale the vapour for a while. Then between sips, I hold the side of the mug to my face to ease the pain of plugged sinuses. I also take cold medication: both the non-drowsy daytime and the drowsy nighttime kind. The trick is knowing what time of the day to switch over so you can fall asleep when you want to.
