What a fantastic way to mark 400 episodes! Congratulations, Ian and Dave, for an outstanding show this week, and thanks to all the wonderful guests. Man, I love this podcast!
Picking up last week’s question, my sister puts mayonnaise on pizza, which is clearly an affront agains all civilised values. I, on the other hand, add mayo to stir fry vegetables with noodles and soy sauce, which is delicious and not remotely weird.
A very Happy 400th Congrats to everyone responsible for bringing Sneaky Dragon to this landmark episode! Maybe if I write you guys enough I could visit for the 500th episode…life goals. All around fun by all, it’s evident Sneaky Dragon fills the hearts of the those who are closest to it.
As for the question of the week from last time, I enjoy a good liverwurst (braunschweiger) sandwich with onions, aged swiss and horseradish. My Grandmother prepared these for me when I was young and I’ve never lost the taste for them over the years. Safe to say I repel anyone around me when I prepare a liverwurst sandwich, so far I haven’t met anyone who shares this taste with me.
Thanks for a fun evening, guys. When the discussion flew off in the direction of the breakout movie of George Segal, I was desperately mouthing Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (1966) to no avail. It’s probably his most prestigious early film performance and the one that got him nominated for a Best Supporting Actor Oscar. The first film I saw him in at a movie theatre was The Hot Rock (1972) with Robert Redford. It was likely the first PG movie and heist caper I saw as a kid so it made quite an impression on me. (I still like a good heist caper.) Of that group of Jewish actors who were cast in leading roles in the 1970s, I’m more of James Caan fan. George Segal’s lead characters often have this air of neurotic desperation as they’re pushed through the narrative wringers of those screenplays.
I think Robot Chicken should produce a scene from Shaun Wick, a movie wherein Shaun the Sheep sets out to avenge the killing of his friend, the farm dog.
I haven’t actually listened yet, but congratulations on reaching 400!
