Well, howdy, pardners, and welcome to another episode of the not-a-hit podcast Sneaky Dragon! This week – after a short visit to the Wild West – Ian and Dave discussed all those Ryan O’Neal/Barbra Streisand movies you’re always seeing everywhere; Dave talks a little bit about his job; Ian provides an example of our terrible, terrible ads for prospective clients; they talk about Canada’s paradoxical lack of freedom of speech; agree that guns are bad; compare Canada and America: socially, politically, ineptly; demonstrate how Trump is helping ISIS; feel bad for Muslims in America; celebrate Superman vs Muhammad Ali; and, finally, Dave ruins the ending.
Well, it turns out there are only two O’Neal/Streisand films – one is great and the other…not so much… Here are the trailers:
First the very funny trailer for the very funny What’s Up, Doc?
And the so-so trailer for the so-so The Main Event:
Thanks for listening.

Correction: Pearl Harbor was on December 7th, not December 12th as was said on the podcast. (Only know myself, because it came up recently.) I made a joke on Twitter about 9/11 being forgotten and murky like 12/7 is now. When I’m 86, Pearl Harbor will be as far away now as 9/11 is today. (I’m one of your longer listeners.)
Ahem, 9/11 will be as far away as Pearl Harbor is today
I wasn’t correcting Dave, I was correcting Dave’s book. But now I have to correct Dave… wait! Fuck it! Nobody cares.
Hey, I remember when Pizza Shack threatened to sue Street Cents! It turned out it to be a mom-and-pop pizza place in one of Atlantic provinces and the owner had never trademarked his restaurant’s name or their logo. I think most people got we were parodying Pizza Hut’s name and logo.
Parody and satire didn’t used to be protected under Canadian law back then as it was in the USA, but they are now so the playing field is levelled now.
Always nice to hear from the Gemini award winning writer of Street Cents! What is Street Cents? Apparently the best kids’ show ever on Canadian TV. http://www.vice.com/en_ca/read/an-oral-history-of-the-best-kids-show-ever-on-canadian-tv-852
So yesterday I checked again, and at long last, the second half of that interview with David was posted on the Dance to Death podcast. I listened to it last night. Was well worth the wait, good stuff!
I liked when the host asked why we don’t have bios on our webpage. Short answer, that’s what the podcast is.
