With Dan Parent. Hello, Sneakers! Ian and Dave are still down in Seattle at Emerald City this week. On the show – in real life they’re lazing around home like a couple of bums. This episode they are joined by Dan Parent, who has one of the hardest jobs in comics: he’s an artist and writer on Archie comics. Oh, sure, it all looks like fun and games, but you try thinking up new ideas after hundreds and hundreds of stories have been written and drawing Betty and Veronica isn’t so easy – one cheekbone out of place and they don’t look like anything. Dan, Ian and Dave talk about the the history of Archie comics; some of the new developments in the Archie-verse; and all the Archie trivia you could ever care to know. Also, Dave wonders where Harvey comics disappeared to and he insults every artist and writer working in comics today; Ian put his mike in backwards, but don’t worry – Dave noticed and put it all right.
Thanks to Dan for coming on this week’s show and for letting us turn his hotel room into a recording studio. You can find Dan’s work at the Archie site.
Thanks for listening.

Another good source of Dan Parent goodness is http://danparent.com
http://awesomecondc.com/guest-announcement-dan-parent/ and if you’re in Washington D.C. why not go see Dan there? You can only look at that Lincoln statue for so long.
This was hands-down one of my favourite episodes yet! I learned so much about Archie Comics (and Harvey Comics) and the characters and gained a whole new respect for where they are currently going.
I’d love to see more interviews like this when you get the chance. I know there are other comic-related podcasts out there, but not with hosts that are knowledgeable and easy to listen to. Well done!
