With Alec Longstreth. This week the boys are down in Seattle at the Emerald City Comicon where they met up with the talented cartoonist Alec Longstreth. Dave is a big fan of Alec’s work so he was happy that Alec took some time away from his table to drop into the Sneaky Dragon remote recording facility (i.e., Dave’s hotel room). Ian, Dave and Alec discuss: how Dave discovered Alec by reading about the infamous SCHEDULE; Alec advises us to be your own horrible boss; Alec describes the outrageous amount of work that went into his newest book, Basewood and his decision to cut off all his hair and not cut it or shave till he finished the book – let’s just say that things got hairy; they solve the riddle of Duck Dynasty; Alec tells us about his career, his comic book Phase 7 and his work at CCS – the Center for Cartoon Studies in White River Junction, VT; Dave has some Tintin regrets; Alec is a BIG Weezer fan; he also loves pinball and tells us about his fanzine Drop Target Zine; finally, Alec explains why France is better than the USA.
We added lots of links in the show description, but you can find Alec here at his website and you can read his pinball playing adventures at his Drop Target blog, which he produces with Jon Chad.
There are a few times during the show that Dave refers to Alec as Alex – our apologies to ALEC that Dave is a dummy!
Thanks for listening.

Great choice of image for this week’s podcast. You get two references with it to two of the greatest Donald Duck artists by using a Don Rosa cover that pays homage to one of Carl Bark’s stories.
