Hola, Sneakers! Welcome to the podcast we like to call a grower!
This week on the show, it’s all about feeling old; video pirates; anthropomorphic popcorn; timeplay = garbage; #donoteattogether; diet yurts; fighting ads; no candour wall; insult buddies; transgressing; cyber bullying cyber bullies; any monster on Sesame Street; dirty Muppets; the gutless Paul Feig; the alternate Omen; the “Respect the Joke” song; memory slicing; a visit to Burma; memory problems; the muffler; more memory problems; let’s believe each other; what human would you be on Sesame Street; and, finally, which least problematic Electric Company character would you be.
Thanks for listening.

Happy Father’s Day, David! As a non-procreator, I always appreciate hearing your parental insights on the podcast. In light of your discussion of truth and memory, here is the Dad Joke I wrote this year for my brother who is a harpist. “Why didn’t the musician trust all stringed instruments? Because some of them were lyres.”
Re: Hacking on Riker’s weight gain in “Star Trick: The Next Improvisation.” Over the last few years I’ve looked back on that and I’ve come to regret contributing to some of those jokes — and for giving him the Mad Magazine-style parody name of “Porker.” Back then, we thought it was fair game to make fun of the actor for “letting himself go” after he’d been cast in the role of the handsome young officer. But if it would be considered body-shaming now, it would have been body-shaming then, even if it was part of the comedic culture of the time.
Looking back, both Star Trick and Star Trick The Next Improvisation hold up pretty well as far as content goes.
A late Happy Birthday to Ian! Hope you had a really great day!
On another note, I both read the book and saw the movie “The Omen” back when first out. To this day, I never hear the word “impale” without thinking of that poor priest!
And yet another note: Guys, the Full Marx podcast is SO good! I am loving it! Thank you for putting it out. 🙂
Thanks, Laurel! We’re really enjoying it…so far!
Thanks Laurel, it was a great day!
OK, I’m listening to this very late, but I have to say this:
IAN IS 100% RIGHT ABOUT CHERRY COKE ZERO.
It’s better than regular Cherry Coke. It’s not as good as UK Cherry Coke, but (as Ian says) it’s much, much better than Diet Cherry Coke, which is garbage.
