Guten Tag, Sneakers!!! The Sneaky Dragon train keeps a-rollin’! This week Ian and Dave reveal their nicknames; have a cat emergency (but not emergencies); and revel in awkward news anchors and their bitter sprouts. Also, Ian thinks Dave is aging youngly; they talk Holes and Black Holes; Dave meets Zero; RIP David Bowie and that other guy; Ian goes clubbing with gandy dancers; Ash Vs. Evil Dead – a fond look back; why Anchorman isn’t very good; and finally, some taste testing: this week, the Philadelphia favourite Peanut Chews.
Thanks for listening.
Curious about Peanut Chews? Here is a homemade video about their history and how they are made:
We mentioned Tony Zhou’s fantastic series of video essays Every Frame A Painting. Here are the two we mentioned:

Growing up I wasn’t much into Much Music, Canada’s music video channel, so in honour of David Bowie’s passing I watched the videos for “Let’s Dance” and “China Girl” for the first time. Looks like they were both shot in Australia. I think that’s Sydney’s Chinatown, not Vancouver’s. I hope you don’t think all Chinatowns look alike. That would be racist!
Sad about Alan Rickman. He was always a great foil for the protagonists in the roles he took on: ruthless terrorist, evil sheriff, hopeful suitor, scary magic teacher, straying husband, and DEAD husband in “Truly, Madly, Deeply.” Juliet Stevenson is great in that as a woman paralyzed by sorrow and Alan Rickman provides a solid and funny counterpoint performance. Actually, with its themes of loss, grieving and memory, it would be a good movie to watch this week.
You’re right it was shot in Australia and New Zealand.
Hi guys,
FYI, the Milsean shop makes regional chocolate bars in Aldergrove.
I know there’s a bunch out of Vancouver as well, but I just can’t think of anything off the top of my head.

Great to hear from you, Jenn!
My wife says I have the body of a teenager so I’m feeling okay with the whole fifty thing.
Actually, she said, “If I told you you have the body of a teenager, would you hold it against me”!
Okay, she didn’t.
Nice….I’ll bet she says sweet things to you for real all of the time….you’re ace!
Happy Birthday!
